Anna Gahlin

Anna Gahlin has a BA and MFA from Bath School of Art and Design,  Bath Spa University. She lives and works in Bath and has shown works in various venues in Bath and surrounds.

After graduating she was part of Studio XYZ and then De-Icers, two groups in which she co-devised themes for exhibitions, and made responsive conceptual work.  Recently she has been working as a solo artist, developing a series of works on paper.

The starting point for all her artwork stems from a lifelong interest in perceptions and memories of colours. Early childhood memories of living in South America and then living in England influence discrete explorations of the vibrant and the muted.  She generally works without imagery or abstraction having devised a set of  parameters as a starting point.  For the last four years she has delighted in possibilities that come about from working with coloured pencils on paper.
