By predominantly painting from life, I try to capture the essence of that which makes us human. Be it the human subject itself on portraiture, or that which we as humans emphasise to hold (aesthetical) value, such as nature in plein air paintings or still lifes. As a Cultural Anthropologist, I understand art to bring us closer to whom we are as humans. Thus, to me art is the heartbeat of humanity.

After taking a slight detour and becoming a media designer and later a cultural anthropologist, I have rekindled my slumbering passion. For the past three years, I have been improving my techniques and understanding of the arts. Currently studying subjects of esotericism in my master's programme, I hope to visit an art academy in the very near future for a part-time training.
