Joe Tymkow graduated in Fine Art from UWE in 2010. For his degree Joe examined the painting process, exploring differing mediums, supports and methods of application; combining artists’ materials such as oils, inks and acrylics, alongside household paints, shellac and bitumen. Joe prioritized the act of painting and the physicality of the process over the final product or outcome. This approach often involves spontaneous and intuitive techniques, emphasizing the journey of creating art rather than aiming for a specific result. Joe describes himself as a non-commercial artist - “Fine Art is about ideas, using whichever medium appropriate to put those ideas across”.
