Growing up in the austere surroundings of the Pennines gave me a love of landscape and the natural world, and it also ignited an affinity with simple, graphic, composition which has been a huge influence on my art and photography.

I gained my Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1992, though it’s really only since 2015 that photography and art has played a more prominent part of my life.

Recent highlights of my practise include the selection of three artworks for exhibition by a jury that included David Inshaw, and selection by Sir Don McCullin as finalist in the print photography category at the Marshwood Arts Awards 2023. I have also sold artworks to collectors as far afield as New York and Dublin, and had a commission for three artworks to hang in the lobby space of a residential development in London.

Landscape continues to be a frequent subject of my photography, and simple geometric forms appear in my art, however I want to explore the expression of ideas through other media such as printmaking and 3 dimensional forms.
