Kate Cochrane

Kate is a colourist with her work featuring elements of the landscape: trees, castle ruins, and reflections in water. The emphasis is on colour, light and composition using layers of paint and glazing and a variety of media. The result is a rich tapestry of hue and texture. Her enjoyment is in the process of painting aiming for the viewer to sense an underlying passion, joy and vitality. Kate’s current work is woodland paths.

Kate gained a Diploma in Graphic Design at Canterbury College of Art followed by courses in Fine Art and colour work. She’s exhibited paintings since 1980, designed home accessories, and recently been tutoring, taking art demonstrations and running workshops.
