GEMMA LANE
Biography:
I studied Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University in the early 2000’s and then became an Art and Photography secondary teacher for 15 years. I now run my own art workshop business, Green Fox Workshops, teaching students of all ages.
I have returned to oils and some early conceptual ideas from my university days. Preservation, the beauty in decay and that death is inevitable. The painting ‘Beauty in death’ depicts this well and ‘Candied Afterlife’ and is an area I am going to explore further in my own work. I am interested in the vulnerability and fragile aspects of nature and how this can be shown.
I really enjoy being outdoors working plein air and seeing the changing seasons from the dormant parts of Winter to the vibrancy of Spring and Summer. I enjoy working with a range of media, such as acrylics and oils.
Website/social
I currently have most of my art work on my teaching website www.greenfoxworkshops.com but I am hoping to in the New Year to have a website just for my art.
